Export Data to Excel and Simplified View Customization

Export to Excel: Seamless Data Portability

Our new Excel export feature offers flexibility in how you analyze your data. Export any sheet view directly to Excel. The export will preserve formatting such as color coded linked records, calculations and more.

Export data to Excel from a sheet view in Essembi

Select the "Export to Spreadsheet" option from any sheet to download a shareable Microsoft Excel spreadsheet with the formatted and filtered data from the view.

While we like to see teams working within Essembi as much as possible, this feature bridges the gap between Essembi and one of the most widely used data analytic tools.

Table-Backed Views: Choose Your Perfect View Starting Point

We have revolutionized how you can create and interact with views by introducing table-backed views. This powerful new feature offers three distinct starting points when building custom views:

  1. New Table: Perfect when just getting started in Essembi and trying to capture new data elements that have not been captured in Essembi before. Build your view dynamically and Essembi will automatically generate a table to support the view behind the scenes.
  2. Existing Table: Leverage data that is already in Essembi when creating your new view. Slice, dice and visualize existing data in new ways. This is ideal for creating alternative perspectives for leaders, teams or other stakeholders.
  3. Data Models: Connect, capture and analyze data across multiple tables within Essembi by building views based on data models. This is ideal for more complex analyses for teams that are more advanced in running Essembi.

The new view customization form where the bottom field enables you to pick the starting point for creating your view as the "Data Source".

These options should give all teams flexible options for creating views for your specific data needs.

Lightweight Sheet View Creation: Simplifying Data Entry and Analysis

This release also includes a game-changing approach to sheet creation that enables users to create a sheet view and a new table at the same time.

Build a new table directly when creating a new sheet view in Essembi

When a user selects the option to build a sheet from a new table, the field selection option will immediately be launched to begin building the table that will make up the columns in the sheet.

Essembi automatically builds the tables behind the scenes to store your data for you. Then users can seamlessly transition from data entry to data analysis using visual totals, filters and more within the sheet view.

The benefits of this approach are:

  • Reduced complexity for users who want to input data quickly
  • Ability to take the data from the sheet and analyze or manipulate it in other view types such as boards and gantts
  • Provides a smooth pathway from simple data entry to more complex data analysis

This feature embodies Essembi's commitment to making customization tools accessible to everyone regardless of their technical background.

Drop Down UI Updates

New drop downs in Essembi

The new, slimmed down drop down option in Essembi with color indicators.

We have simplified the drop down options that appear when selecting linked records, users, teams and multi-select records. Records with an associated color have a color indicator circle rather than having the entire row highlighted.

In Case You Missed It: Last Release's New Customer Portal
