Essembi has just released a powerful notification builder to help teams create customer in-app and email notifications. Stay up to date on all activities within your team by getting real-time alerts with a link to the specific record via email and custom in-app notifications.
Configuration
Notifications can be created via Settings > Automations or from a view by selecting Customize > Automations.
Different Types of Notification Triggers
Essembi contains multiple types of custom notification trigger that can be deployed.
- New record created. Get alerted on when a new record is created for a specific table. Some common use cases would be receiving a notification each time a new roadmap initiative is entered or when feedback is received from a customer.
- Specific status updated. Get updates on when records change between set statuses. For example, receive notifications when tickets are completed by development or when roadmap initiatives are marked as completed.
- Record updated. Receive a notification when a record is updated. Some of our favorite use cases would be to get alerts when a sprint or release record is updated.
- Time based reminders. Triggers a reminder when a date field is within a specific time domain. Useful to get alerted when a due date is approaching or is missed.
Receiving Notifications
Notifications will continue to display in the app via the bell icon in the top right and in the home summary. "Watching" records will continue to trigger notifications for the specific record within the app. But with this update users will also receive emails for any notification they have customized via the automations area.
Additional New Features in the Release
Hover Effects on Colors in App
Based on some recent user feedback, the is now a hover effect on color fields throughout the app. Drop down options in views, colored board cards, and gantt colored timelines all have hover effects.
Board Color Indicator
Boards now have a color indicator shown in the top right that provide a reference for what the color of cards means within the board. The color of cards within any board can be set via Customize > Customize View.
Board Column Record Count
The styling of the record count has been changed to make it easier for a user to digest.
New Link Field Type
The form designer now has a link field type that is tied to short text fields. The link field will show up on forms with a link button on the right hand side of the field. The link button launches the specified URL in a new tab. This is useful for tying Figma designs to roadmaps, epics or tickets or for tying an issue URL directly to a ticket.
New Email Field Type
Users can now create an email field type on a form. The email field type has a link on the right hand side that automatically launches an email to that user from your default email provider on your device.
